Gifford Pinchot National Forests dropped public-use fire restrictions on Friday. Campfires are now allowed outside of designated, developed campgrounds. Use existing fire rings for campfires when possible, and always remember to extinguish your fires before you leave!Good news for campers this weekend! With increasingly cooler weather and recent precipitation across Northwest Oregon and Washington, the Mt. Hood & Gifford Pinchot National Forests dropped public use (fire) restrictions effective at 12:01 a.m. Friday, September 22. ☑️With this action, campfires are now allowed outside of designated, developed campgrounds across public land. The public is reminded to use existing fire rings for campfires wherever possible and to always bring a shovel and extra water to ensure the fire is cold to the touch when you leave. If it's too hot to touch, it's too hot to leave. #OnlyYou ... See MoreSee Less
